"It was the concert on March 31st 1973 in the Duesseldorf Philipshalle.
This concert started with a disaster as one equipment truck failed to
arrive in Duesseldorf due to a broken axel. The Philipshalle was totally
overfilled with more than 10.000 fans due to 3.000 fake tickets that we
were sold. The fans had to wait from 5pm until 10pm while the road crew
had to assemble the stage in lightning speed. ELP spent some time on
stage just to talk with the fans to keep them from going mad. When the
concert finally started Keith promised that elp would play as long as
the fans wanted to honour the fans' long wait. The concert lasted almost
4 and a half hours. All 3 guys were totally exhausted at the end but the
concert was nothing less than a triumph. I think it is this respect to
the fans that guarantees our loyalty to Keith, Greg and Carl. This
concert is a moment in my live that I will surely never forget. Thank
you very much."

"After wearing out my ELP records, I finally got to see ELP in
Saratoga, NY (SPAC) on August 13, 1972!! After being told that there was
no way ELP could reproduce the sound that was on the albums, I was in my
own little heaven to proclaim to my friends that yes indeed they did it
and they did quite well, Thank You!!! I do remember a bit of a hassle
during Keith's piano solo. I hope all three of you will stay (together).
Also, it would be nice to see a "concept" album where all the tracks are
interrelated like the early ELP and King Crimson. Whatever you do, I'm
assured that at the least it will be quality music. That's one thing all
three of stand for. Thanks for the great music!!!"

" I want to take the time to thank you for the last 25 years. Sounds
strange, but ELP has been a part of my life since I was 7 years old. It
got me through high school, through college, deployments with the U. S.
Navy, medical school and now with my children. I finally saw you fine
musicians perform in Maryland back in 1992--outstanding. Today, I have
introduced your music to my son Patrick, age 8--a new fan. Thank you all
and God bless."
