Just a quick note to say how much you and ELP have meant to me for the past 25 years. (Yes, I know this dates us both.) I've driven a truck no less than 250,000 miles while listening to my nearly complete library of ELP albums while dispaling a hand drawn version of Tarkus on my bumper. I now hang off sky-scrapers and paint to the soothing throngs of such pieces as "Karn Evil Nine etc.; helps me keep focused and holding on tight! Thanks for the incentive to hold on!
I have a dream that perhaps my insignificant words might actually make it past your screeners and meet your eyes personally. How humbling it must be to have such a great effect on so many people for so long. You, along with the others have proven yourselves worthy of such "Hero- Worship" by conducting yourselves with great grace and humility. Iam a Boy Scout leader now, and I regularly expose my charges to your music-both new and old. I am pleased to say I have won quite a few converts for you fellows! It is encouraging that in this age of rap and other similar crap, these boys can still recognize Good music with a kick that fills a young man's needs for such things.

Just dropped in to say "Hi". It is good to know your still out there. I have been lucky enough to see you perform 3 times...twice as E. L. & Palmer & once w/Powell (the night you blew ceiling tiles out of Lloyd Noble Arena in Oklahoma). I must say though, my favorite show was in Little Rock, Arkansas on the BSS tour. Show was over (or we thought, stage was being broke down) & we leave Barton to the car with a flat tire & no jack. About 15 minutes later we hear music again. They wouldn't let us back in, but folks that stayed said it was a gas. That same night I met Carl Palmer & didn't have enough sense to realize who I was talking to until you guys hit the stage. You'd think silk or satin judo outfit & accent would have been a no brainer. Guess there was no brain that night. Except on stage. Thank you for your music & your work. Take care.

I knew about ELP two years ago when it was suggested to me to listen the
60'-70' best rock bands. I took to the ELP music, since it was the first time I heard them. It was completely new for me, the style, the complex
keyboard and percussion sounds and, of course, Greg Lake's fascinating
voice. Two months ago, as a part of a tour in South America, they came
to Lima. So I had the oportunity to saw them a live.
It was one of the better concerts I have ever attended.... if not the best. My limited English does not allow me to express how good they were. At the end of the show, while the band was performing the last song, Lake approched to me and gave me his guitar pick with his signature. Oh! It was unforgettable for me. Since then I am planning to play the guitar again.

Yes, I was there: 11,12,14-Long Beach Arena, Long Beach, CA. I sure
wish I didn't wear out that "Works Tour" tee-shirt. If I recall Journey
opened for ELP.
What an excellent memory that is for me. Best wishes during this holiday season and in the future. Paul Tolmas |

"As a long time fan and admirer of ELP, I was very fortunate to be in attendence at the Las Vegas Show on the 12th of June, and The Atlanta show on the 16th. ELP (and ELP fans ) are the nicest and most hospitible people I've ever known. Keith, Greg & Carl have never let ego and fame get in the way of catering to their fans. They are always willing to stop and talk or sign an autograph. I mean, after all the problems at the show in Atlanta, you'd think they'd be in no mood for a bunch of fans' silly questions. But on the contrary, they (Greg especially), were asking us to sit at their table and join them. I think that's why the fans are so close to each other as well. I have friends now that are closer than many I've had for years. Friends in California, Pennsylvania, Washigton DC, Clearwater, New Jersey, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, New York, Ohio, Illinois, ... the list goes on & on....all because of ELP!"

"I attended the Madison Square Garden show on October 17, 1977. I was only 13 years old. This was my first rock concert ever and no one has ever performed like Keith Greg and Carl that evening. I was astounded at the live talent that they have. They did a lot of great songs including Gregs' Cest la Vie , Pirates and Karn Evil 9. I also attended a concert with Greg Lake on solo tour in Dec 1981.I couldn't believe he did In the Court of the Crimson King. Most recently I saw the show in Wallingford, Ct this past September 6th and had front row seats at the Beacon Theater in NYC. I have to say I enjoyed these shows the best of all.Mostly because of the music that was played. Great songs like Bitches Crystal, Tarkus, Pictures at an Exhibition and the opener of Karn Evil 9 was awesome to say the least.I also had flowers for Keith and Greg and they were so very gracious. I turned around to get Keiths' flowers and Greg gave me a bass pick. Also Keith Emerson kissed my hand. I will never forget that and Greg and Keith I would like to say thank you very much for the music and a night I will never forget."

"Great show at the Universal Amphitheatre last night. Tarkus-Kiev was magnificent, and the rearrangements throughout the show made for powerful, reinvigorated songs. Welcome back, indeed!"

"Please tell all the members of ELP thank you very much for their wonderful performance on Sept. 8, 1997 at the State Theatre in New Jersey. It was one of the best shows I have ever seen and that is saying something. It was especially special because I attended the show with my 15 yr. old son Ray. He is a big fan of ELP. A novice musician (trumpet, guitar some keyboard) it was the thrill of a lifetime for him. This truly is some of the best times of my life when I spend time with him enjoying thsame interests. The fact that the show was as entertaining and musically superior just added to a great night for both of us and his two friends who also attended. they are 17 yr. old young men who perform some ELP songs in their band and are also big fans. Again relay my heartfelt thanks to the band."

"I always wanted to thank ELP for being a part of my life. My brother and I are two different people. I'm the loud one with lots of friends, he's the quiet one with wife and son and a couple of friends. We fought our way through our years. He seemed to despise everything I did, and I thought he should come out of his shell. The ONLY thing that he and I had the same feelings about, were ELP! As a drummer, he was a Carl Palmer freak and as a Magnus organ aficionado (left hand on the chord button, right hand played the numbered key), I liked Keith. We never really got along when we lived together, except when we listened to each new album by ELP! Our parents couldn't figure it out and couldn't understand why we were attracted to "noise." (I have to admit, one breakthrough came when my Dad overheard Carl Palmer's drum solo on Karn Evil 9. It brought back memories of Gene Krupa.) However, they knew a good thing when they saw it...they saw the ice thawing between my brother and I. Well, we're all grown up now and doing nicely (Thank you). A couple of years back, we heard the great news that ELP was back together and touring. I bought a couple of tickets for ELP's concert at the Garden State Art Center in Holmdel, NJ (we were born and raised in Jersey City home of Roosevelt Stadium)). As adults, my brother and I had the opportunity to share that one bond we had as kids...Emerson, Lake and Palmer! It was a great concert and it was a great night out with my brother! I live in Denver now and he still lives in New Jersey.
He just called me the other day to tell me about this Homepage! ELP is still a bond between us. To Keith, Greg and Carl, my brother and I thank you for the many great years!"

"I have to admit (Sorry if I make mistakes but I'm from Montréal) that I was scared when I first listened to ELP first album. I was very young and it was sort of a very radical departure from what I was listening at the time. But I was attracted to to ELP's music and the more I was listening, the more I was getting into it. They became one of my most important influence. I had the chance to see ELP live in Montréal at the Olympic Stadium with the Orchestra and I can assure you that there was magic in the air on that night. ELP enjoyed Montréal and we enjoyed everything they gave to us. Being in the music business, I had the chance to meet them personnaly in Montréal in 1993 and I can tell you, they are 3 gentlemen and they are exactly like I was expecting them to be, great guys!"

"Longtime fan and just saw them at the Rosemont Theatre last night. Best of all the shows here since reunion. Emerson in very good form and leading once again. Lake struggled with his voice early, but warmed up cautiously and sounded just fine through last half. Palmer, if anything is getting better, though it seems impossible. During "Knife Edge" he really got in a zone where I thought he might leave his body behind. Sound was bass-heavy, and I didn't like Keith's setting of piano/synth on Take a Pebble, though the song was great. I wondered if it was to disguise any "misses". Several times through the night saw his hands moving like lightning, but heard nothing due to sound setup. Greg's bass and voice miked too heavily-not a criticism of either, just not well balanced. It was great to see Keith back in the saddle-he was tremendous-always a new wrinkle at every juncture. The old music is always evolving. I hope new music will come and get public exposure."

"Thank you Emerson Lake and Palmer for many years of listening.
I first discovered ELP when I was about 12 years old and my older brother was listening to "Pictures at an Exhibition". I thought that it was really cool music and different from what I was listening to at the time...The Beatles. Later he played me a track that will always stick in my mind "Tank", with Carl's drum solo. Since that point, I have become one of your greatest fans in Quebec. At age 15, I saw you at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, that was my greatest musical moment. I then saw you guys twice in January of 1978 at the Montreal Forum, it was phenomenal. Funny occurence, in 1979 my mother brought us to Nassau for a vacation and later, at Christmas, my brother bought me "Love Beach" and my mother, upon seeing the album cover, said "I had a drink with those three guys on Paradise Island"...I flipped. Saddened at your break-up, I still followed each one's career, seeing Greg Lake with Gary Moore at the Theatre St-Denis, seeing Asia both times they were in Montreal, my best friend was the drummer with the opening act Morse Code. I was so happy when I saw and bought the Emerson, Lake & Powell album which I still like to listen to, and the Sepetember concert in Montreal was fantastic. Once again, you guys faded in the woodwork, returning with the "Black Moon" album and "Tour". I introduced many of my friends to your music by buying 6 tickets for that concert, they all loved it, and we all returned to see you at the Theatre St-Denis in February of 1993, that concert was incredible. I am now hooked up to this crazy Internet thing and I have the chance to write to you guys and express my gratitude for your music which has helped me through a lot of bad times and even more great times. It always make me feel good when I hear Karn Evil 9, Fanfare, Hoedown, etc., and I always get a shot of nostalgia when I hear C'est la vie and Close to Home. However, by the looks of your tour schedule, I have the bad impression that neither Quebec City, nor Montreal will be part of it. I wanted to go and see you in Reno, but my schedule called for me to be in Toronto for that specific weekend. Anyways, even if you do not come to Montreal, you will always have a place in the heart of this older fan who thanks you so much for the many past years and many more years of listening pleasure."
Sincerely,

"First of all, I LOVE your ELP webpage. Great job! Now, please allow me to share my recent experience of attending the ELP concert at the Rosemont Theatre on September 19, 1997!
For starters, my friend and I got to sit right in front of the stage, directly across from Keith Emerson! Ooooo, what a super show it was! I don't remember the exact setlist, but I know they did "Lucky Man", "Bitches Crystal", and "Hoedown". There was also a lot of Keith Emerson solo stuff. For an encore, they did "21st-Century Schizoid Man". Even though I wasn't supposed to, I took some fantastic pictures of the show. Afterwards, I hung around with a group of other people. Someone said that there was a good chance ELP would come out to sign autographs at the backstage door. After about an hour of waiting, ELP did just that. I got the three of them to sign my "Black Moon" CD cover. I even had my picture taken with Greg Lake! That's my story in a nutshell. You are far more than welcome to print this on you Webpage, and reprints of the photos I took are yours for the asking!"

"Went to your Rosemont show (Rosemont Theatre: September 19, 1997. A friend alerted me to the fact you were appearing (day of show) and I got quick tickets! We sat in the second balcony (probably the furthest fans from stage), but since the theatre is somewhat small still a great seat. The show was outstanding! Personal highlight: Pictures at an exhibition. One must know that I love this song (remembering your caped appearence at the California Jam). The Great Gates of Kiev sends shivers down my spine no matter how many times I hear it. Just magical. I am happy that my fellow concertgoers gave you a hearty round of applause after each song. I was hoarse after the show! One must also know that the press hyped the Rolling Stones appearence at a club in Chicago that same night. To me, the show of the night was EL&P at the Rosemont! I want you to know your legion of devotees is as active as the band itself.
Many thanks for the excellent music that time will tell as some of the great music of all time."

"My wife and I just saw ELP in Chicago on September 19. It was a real thrill to see them again. I took my wife, Patti to the show in Chicago back in the 70's at Soldiers Field and she was thrilled to see them up close at Rosemont Theater."
